Enhancing efficiency by optimally matching people and machines
Low-cost intelligent automation system (LCIA)
Previously, Matsusaka’s blood pressure monitor production line required human operators to be assigned to each process. A low-cost intelligent automation (LCIA) system was deployed to replace this manned line with automated machines, matching operators and machines for maximum effectiveness. This led to increasing those processes having more efficient interaction between machines to reduce tasks that were manually performed before.

Smarter machines can handle operations and maintain high quality
The soldering process was formerly performed by human operators in most cases because the delicate process was difficult for machines to handle well. Our automated soldering position correction system allowed machines to solder with precision.
This shift was accompanied by printed circuit board (PCB) checks moving from human visual inspection to machine vision inspection fully able to maintain high product quality. Human-machine collaboration leveraging each other’s strengths reduces time required for this process, saving energy and improving energy productivity as well.

Space-reducing initiative
An initiative to cut operating time helped increase production volume to reduce the number of production lines but producing the same number of products as before. This freed up manufacturing floor space and that in turn reduced energy used for lighting and air conditioning, delivering greater energy productivity.
