These factors also vary from person to person. To manage blood pressure effectively, it is important to measure blood pressure in the morning and evening as well as whenever a person is concerned about their physical condition, whether day or night. This enables the individual to view their own blood pressure fluctuation trend in detail.

Decades of development

OMRON Healthcare began to develop a blood pressure monitor in 1973. Ever since then, we have worked to raise awareness of the importance of monitoring blood pressure at home, as we continue to introduce new and innovative products. In particular, we have focused on evolving technology to monitor and manage blood pressure at home.

Among these developments is a wrist monitor for checking blood pressure on the go. We also developed a function helpful in early-stage detection and easy recognition of blood pressure surges in the early morning, as these indicate an increased risk of developing cerebrovascular and cardiovascular diseases. In 2019, we introduced a wearable blood pressure monitor that detects blood pressure changes during the daytime, as these are not seen just with morning/night measurements. There is also a nocturnal blood pressure monitor that tracks blood pressure changes during sleep. These are just some of the solutions we provide for blood pressure-related issues.

Hypertension is usually without symptoms and thus it often goes unnoticed. But it is definitely a condition that should not be overlooked because of the increased risk for developing cerebrovascular/cardiovascular diseases.
