Celebrating 300 million Blood Pressure Monitors

History of OMRON Healthcare

In the 1970s, we pioneered the first electronic home-use blood pressure monitor when home blood pressure monitoring was not a common practice.

Since then, we've developed easy-to-use and accurate blood pressure monitors for home-use, developed the original bio-sensing technology, and continuously advanced our devices' measurement accuracy and usability.

Recently, we've also added an innovative watch-like wearable blood pressure monitor and an upper-arm blood pressure monitor with built-in EKG technology to the product portfolio.

In the future, we aim to focus more on the global expansion of remote patient monitoring (RPM) services and on advancing artificial intelligence (AI) to prevent the onset of cerebrovascular and cardiovascular diseases.

Shaping the Future of a Healthier World

Our Long-Term Vision

This 2022, OMRON announced a long-term corporate vision called "Shaping the Future 2030'' (or SF2030).

In support of this, we've defined our healthcare business vision as ''Going for Zero: Zero cerebrovascular and cardiovascular events", developing various innovative devices; including a device that takes blood pressure and records ECG simultaneously, a device that measures blood pressure automatically without disturbing sleep, algorithms that support doctors with diagnoses and treatments, most notably, expanding our remote patient monitoring services globally.
