Shaping the future of heart health

Early CVD detection with BPM x ECG

01

Early CVD Detection with BPM & ECG

Early detection of atrial fibrillation can help achieve our vision of zero cerebrovascular and cardiovascular events. Since hypertension carries a high risk of such events, home ECG measurements are key to prevention. We present the latest data on home ECG effectiveness.

Expanding Digital Health Management

02

Expanding Digital Health Management

We are also expanding in digital health management for a more holistic view. The OMRON connect health management application (U.S. and European versions) includes ECG analysis reports and personalized advice functions. It supports early detection and diagnosis of heart diseases.

Impact of cerebrovascular and cardiovascular diseases worldwide

#1 Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death globally.
85% 85% of these deaths were due to heart attacks and strokes.
x2 Hypertension is a leading factor in cerebrovascular and cardiovascular diseases. The number of hypertensive patients worldwide has doubled in the past 30 years.

Our Vision

Going for ZERO

Cerebral and cardiovascular diseases, such as stroke and heart failure, are high-risk and life-threatening.

There are cases in which patients are left with sequelae such as paralysis after the onset of the disease. On the other hand, it is known that early detection and treatment can reduce the risk of serious illness.

In some cases patients suffer effects after the onset of the disease, even paralysis.

Fortunately, early detection and treatment can reduce the risk of serious illness. The main causes of cerebral and cardiovascular diseases are hypertension and atrial fibrillation. Hypertension often progresses without symptoms. Atrial fibrillation, a type of arrhythmia, is also difficult to detect at an early stage because there are no symptoms or they quickly disappear.

OMRON Healthcare's blood pressure monitors and remote patient monitoring services support hypertension treatment and early detection of atrial fibrillation.

We are also accelerating the global development of electrocardiographs and smartphone applications for the early detection of atrial fibrillation and therapeutic intervention. We are also working on a new type of cardioverter-defibrillation monitoring system.

These projects strive toward our goal of “Going for ZERO.” This is our vision of a world with zero incidence (zero events) of cerebral and cardiovascular diseases.

Pioneering since day one

The first blood pressure meter was developed in 1973. Since then, Omron Healthcare has continued to promote home blood pressure measurement and electrocardiogram recording in order to realize our vision: zero incidence of cerebrovascular and cardiovascular diseases.

Exhibition of BPM, OMRON Connect and 3D style measurement system. A booth of instantaneous full-body scan and 3D model projection attracted attention.

2016

2016

Vision of ‘elimination of cardiovascular events: Zero heart attacks and strokes’ were introduced. As the kickoff to accomplish the vision, downsized wrist BPM and tubeless cuff-integrated upper-arm BPM were showcased. Demonstration of actual measurements at the booth impressed the whole audience.

2017

2017

As the first step of Going for Zero mission, wearable BPM (40mm)/AIO (All-in-One type BPM) were exhibited. Wearable BPM (25mm) still in development was in the spotlight. There were many inquiries for WheezeScan.

2018

2018

Introduced various practices for achieving Going for Zero including the world’s first FDA-approved wearable BPM with the Oscillometric Method. OMRON Connect app debuted.

2019

Since its launch in 2019, HeartGuide® has been highly acclaimed with its value of daily BP monitoring. Feedback from the actual users and doctors on how their lifestyles or behaviors have been changed were introduced. ‘Complete’, the clinically-validated BPM with built-in ECG allows users to check their ECG while monitoring their blood pressure on a daily basis, and has contributed to detect heart-related disease including Afib at an early stage. OMRON Healthcare is now in a new phase of Going for Zero vision.
